Faith Hill – Let Me Let Go

Is a song written by Steve Diamond and Dennis Morgan and performed by American country music singer Faith Hill. It was released on September 14, 1998, as the third single from Hill’s third studio album, Faith (1998). The song features background vocals from Vince Gill.
The song received a positive review in Billboard. Larry Flick wrote, «»Let Me Let Go» is a well-written song about moving on after a failed relationship, and Hill’s intimate, vulnerable vocal illustrates why she’s one of the genre’s top female talents. The fact that her voice is combined with Vince Gill’s lush, lovely backing harmonies elevates this record to heavenly heights. The production by Hill and Dan Huff is a little more pop-driven than on her previous ballads, but radio seems to be firmly behind this deserving artist, and are willing to stretch with her.»

Faith Hill – Let Me Let Go Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I thought it was over, baby
We said our goodbyes
But I can’t go a day without your face
Going through my mind
In fact, not a single minute
Passes without you in it
Your voice, your touch, memories of your love
Are with me all of the time
[Chorus]
Let me let go, baby
Let me let go
If this is for the best, why are you still in my heart?
Are you still in my soul?
Let me let go
[Verse 2]
I talked to you the other day
Looks like you make your escape
You put us behind, no matter how hard I try
I can’t do the same
[Chorus]
Let me let go, baby
Let me let go
It just isn’t right
I’ve been two thousand miles
Down a dead-end road
[Chorus]
Let me let go, darling, won’t you?
I just gotta know, yeah
If this is for the best
Why are you still in my heart?
Are you still in my soul?
Let me let go
[Bridge]
The lights of this strange city are shining
But they don’t hold no fascination for me
I try to find the bright side, baby
But everywhere I look, everywhere I turn
You’re all I see
[Chorus]
Let me, let me let go, baby, won’t you?
Let me let go
It just isn’t right
I’ve been two thousand miles
Down a dead-end road
[Outro]
Oh, let me let go, darling, won’t you?
I just gotta know
If this is for the best
Why are you still in my heart?
Yeah, you’re still in my soul
Let me let go
Let me let go
Let me let go
