Writing by David Allan Coe And Johnny Paycheck Made It Famous, So Famous, That Was Two Weeks Number One In Lists, Being The Only Number One For Paycheck. Much People Believed That The Song Had Been Written Paycheck , Thing That Did Not Like A Lot To David.
The Idea Of This Song Emerged, When David Allan Coe Was Looking For Work, I Offered Him A Work Of Fireman And The Answer Was, “Take This Job And Shove It” (It Was Onlyjoking), This Inspired For To Write The Song. Once It Was Written, I Take It To The Producer Billy Sherrill, That After Reading The Letter Of The Song, Said, This Song Is Perfect For Johnny Paycheck To Sing. So It Was In 1977 The Song Was Recorded.

It Was Published In The Johnny Paycheck Album “Take This Job And Shove It” (Epic Records 1977), The Next Year, It Was Also Published In The Album Of David Allan Coe, Family Album (Columbia Records 1978).
This Song Became A War Shout , For The Working Class. It Was Immediately Something That Every Working Person Could Connect With.It Was A Song About A Man Who Worked Hard At A Job For A Long Time Without Much Recognition.

Johnny Paycheck – Take This Job And Shove It lyrics

Take this job and shove it
I ain’t working here no more
My woman done left and took all the reasons
I was working for
You better not try to stand in my way
‘Cause I’m walkin’ out the door
Take this job and shove it
I ain’t working here no more
I been workin’ in this factory
For nigh on fifteen years
All this time I watched my woman
Drownin’ in a pool of tears
And I’ve seen a lot of good folks die
That had a lot of bills to pay
I’d give the shirt right offa’ my back
If I had the guts to say
Take this job and shove it
I ain’t working here no more
My woman done left and took all the reasons
I was workin’ for
You better not try to stand in my way
‘Cause I’m walkin’ out the door
Take this job and shove it
I ain’t workin’ here no more
Well that foreman, he’s a regular dog
The line boss, he’s a fool
Got a brand new flattop haircut
Lord, he thinks he’s cool
One of these days I’m gonna’ blow my top
And that sucker, he’s gonna’ pay
Lord I can’t wait to see their faces
When I get the nerve to say
Take this job and shove it
I ain’t working here no more
My woman done left and took all the reasons
I was workin for
You better not try to stand in my way
‘Cause I’m walkin’ out the door
Take this job and shove it
I ain’t workin’ here no more
Take this job and shove it
