With the production of Ken Mansfield & Waylon Jennings, the song was released on January 16, 1975, on May 24, 1975, it reached number # 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs for a week, and stayed 18 weeks on the charts, also reached number one on the Canadian RPM Country Singles charts, on June 14, 1975. It was the first and only number one of the career of Jessi. Which became Colter’s signature tune and its greatest success.
