Review by Miquel Batlle Garriga
Hi, buddies… something new for you today!
We’re heading down to Florida with singer-songwriter Kenyon Lockry and his latest album, Further Than California.

The story begins in January 2006, when a five-song demo Kenyon had recorded in Nashville found its way into the hands of Mel Tillis. What could have been just another recording became the start of a major opportunity. Mel was impressed by his music and took him under his wing, signing him to a management deal.
That support helped Kenyon along the way. His releases include It’s About That Time (2012), Family Man (2016), Honky Tonk Noir (2018), and Laughrey (2025). I recommend them all except the 2025 album, which I could easily do without.
But this latest one? A gem, full of that ’90s honky-tonk and neotraditional country sound. An album with no filler!
Enjoy it & Keep it Country!
