«I Love a Rainy Night» is a song co-written and recorded by American country music artist Eddie Rabbitt. It was released in November 1980 as the second single from his album Horizon. It reached number one on the Hot Country Singles, Billboard Hot 100, and Adult Contemporary Singles charts in early 1981. It was written by Rabbitt, Even Stevens and David Malloy.
On February 28, the song succeeded Dolly Parton’s hit film theme song «9 to 5» in the number-one position on the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart. On March 14, Parton’s song returned to the top spot—the last time, to date, that the pop chart featured back-to-back «country» singles in the top position.

Eddie Rabbitt – I Love A Rainy Night Lyrics
Well, I love a rainy night
I love a rainy night
I love to hear the thunder
Watch the lightning
When it lights up the sky
You know it makes me feel good
Well, I love a rainy night
It’s such a beautiful sight
I love to feel the rain on my face
Taste the rain on my lips
In the moonlight shadow
Showers wash all my cares away
I wake up to a sunny day
‘Cause I love a rainy night
Yeah, I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night, ooh ooh
I love a rainy night
I love a rainy night
I love to hear the thunder
Watch the lightning
When it lights up the sky
You know it makes me feel good
Well, I love a rainy night
It’s such a beautiful sight
I love to feel the rain on my face
Taste the rain on my lips
In the moonlight shadow
Puts a song in this heart of mine
Puts a smile on my face every time
‘Cause I love a rainy night
Yeah, I love a rainy night
Ooh, I love a rainy night
Yeah, I love a rainy night, ooh ooh
Showers wash all my cares away
I wake up to a sunny day
‘Cause I love a rainy night
Yeah, I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night
I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night
You can see it in my eyes
Yeah, I love a rainy night
‘Cause it makes me high
Ooh, I love a rainy night
You know I do
Yeah yeah, I love a rainy night
I love a rainy night
You can see it in my eyes
I love a rainy night
It makes me high
Well, I love a rainy night
And I love you, too
Yeah, I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night
Well, I love a rainy night
I love a rainy night
