«Only One You» is a song written by Michael Garvin and Bucky Jones, and recorded by American country music artist T. G. Sheppard. It was released in November 1981 as the first single from the album Finally!. The song was his ninth No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in February 1982, spending one week atop the chart as part of a 13-week run within the country chart’s top 40.

In contrast to some of his earlier hits—including «I Loved ‘Em Every One» — «Only One You» pays tribute to monogamy and uniqueness of a single object of affection. Here, a man illustrates this uniqueness by referencing world landmarks such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Eiffel Tower, masterpieces such as da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, the cities New York Town and Paris, Fifth Avenue and one Finest Hour, before telling the woman «there’s only one you.»

T.G Sheppard – Only One You lyrics

I’ve seen this world from corner to corner
There ain’t much ground that I haven’t covered
I’ve drank it’s wine
I’ve tasted it’s pleasures

I’ve known some love
And I’ve known some lovers
If there’s one lesson in the livin’ I’ve done
The best things only come along in numbers of one

There’s only one Eiffel Tower
One finest hour
One New York town
One 5th Avenue

There’s only one Mona Lisa
One Leaning Tower Of Pisa
One Paris and there’s only one you

I’ve been a king
And I’ve been a pauper
And everything there is in between
It took some time to know what is timeless
But I’ve found and learned what that means
I’ll never leave you, girl
‘Cause I know the catch
Wonders of this world
Will never come with a match

There’s only one Eiffel Tower
One finest hour
One New York town
One 5th Avenue

There’s only one Mona Lisa
One Leaning Tower Of Pisa
One Paris and there’s only one you

There’s only one Eiffel Tower
One finest hour
One New York town
One 5th Avenue

There’s only one Mona Lisa
One Leaning Tower Of Pisa
One Paris and there’s only one you

There’s only one Eiffel Tower
One finest hour
One New York town
One 5th Avenue

There’s only one Mona Lisa
One Leaning Tower Of Pisa
One Paris and there’s only one you
